Importing video/converting to AVI

lmccavanagh
I'm trying to import/open a video but I always get an error saying "unsupported compression".  I've tried multiple programs to convert my videos to AVI but it isn't compatible. The errors I get are  "unsupported compression" 34363268 'h264 and 334706d 'mp43. Has anyone have any suggestions?

I know some have suggested using the ffmpeg but I'm lost as to what to download.
Thank you

If you are running Fiji, open Help>Update, click on ‘Manage Update Sites’ at the lower left of the updater window.
Scroll down until you see “FFMPEG” and click on its checkbox.
'Close' this window and click on ‘Apply Changes’.
Restart Fiji and FFMPEG will appear in the menu that opens from File>Import…

I’ve had some videos open differently depending on whether or not opening as virtual stacks.
